Leipzig Rathaus tower and cellar and Moritzbastei

In Leipzig we were shown the cellars, parts of former fortifications, below the new (c. 1905) town Hall, and admired the views from the 115 m town hall tower.

The evening meal was in the 15th C Moritzbastei .  former massive brickwork fortifications (17th C) now converted as a restaurant and cultural centre, initially by Leipzig students form 1973 onwards.
